..follow the money. Bush is determined to stay in Iraq for the same reason we went there...for money. The people who bankrolled him originally have all profited handsomely, obscenely, from this war...they did so by dreaining our Treasury every few months and forcing us to borrow money to stay "safe". What a price.

They need to stay as long as they can not for democracy in Iraq but for the next round of appropriations due from Congress...every four months means several billions more...wouldn`t you stay?
