....saw a Chevy pick-up down here with a Cadillac decal affixed "proudly" to the tailgate...it read "Cadillac Escalade". That's us. We're a Chevy with a Cadillac decal attached; Nestorians with an Assyrian decal. As Joseph points out, we have every reason to be proud of our Chevy, of being Nestorians, and the contributions we made to civilization by preserving and passing along Greek classical writings...but, we've decided to glue on a more "noble" identity, we've decided we should be a Cadillac rather than a Chevy...and just as you feel only pity for the guy who thinks he can be a Cadillac for the price of a Chevy, just by attaching a three dollar decal...we present just as pathetic a sight with our "Assyrian" pasted onto out foreheads...and our church.

People should be what they are...proud of what they are, not what they can glue.
