...let's ask it another way..."what makes a Christian"? Or even, "what makes a Jew"?

Can a Christian be of any nationality and still be a Christian? Yes. Does the same apply for a Jew? Yes. That's because these are religions, not ethnic designations, not even Judaism is an ethnicity, or a "blood type".

For our assyrians to be truly what they say they are, they would have had to remain faithful to Ashur, the god of the ASSUR-ians. And yet our boys say the silliest things...they say they are MORE assyrian because they are CHRISTian.

Can you imagine a Jew saying he is MORE of a Jew because he is Christian?

In the old days when these religions were spawned, you took the name of your prophet or god as your own...you were identified by the god you worshipped, you "belonged" to him or her...any Jew giving up Yahwe for another god, even if he got lots of benefits and had his diseases cured, could no longer be a Jew...he certainly wouldn't be accepted by other Jews who remained faithful to their god.

To be a Christian means to be a CHRIST-ian, a follower of Christ...to be a YAHWI-st means you worship the Jewish god...to be a MUHAMMAD-an meant you followed Muhammad.

How is it that ASHUR-ians became MORE assyrian when they abandoned their god Ashur? makes no sense at all.

Today you have to be a CHRIST-ian to be an ASHUR-ian, but only if you don't worship Ashur...the god in that name. And if you worship Allah, you can't be assyrian...but you CAN be assyrian if you worship the god of the CHRIST-ians...you can abandon Ashur for Christ and be a true assyrian...but if you abandon Christ, you cannot any longer be assyrian...how is that?

Our boys are trying to make a nation and ethnic identity out of what is just a religion...into an "ethnic identity" that can be "joined", or exist at all, only if you become a follower of Christ...what kind of ethnicity mandates a religion and not even the religion of the Assyrians?

The French can be Christian...the Germans, the Italians, the British, the Africans and many more can all be Christians, regardless of what country or ethnicity they are...same with Jews...you can be a white Jew from Germany or a dark Jew from Ethiopia, makes no difference where you were born, or your bloodline...you are welcome, so long as you follow THAT god.

But that's not the case with our boys...wherever you are born you HAVE to be Christian to be Assyrian, a supposed "nationality"....and even if you were born assyrian, in Iraq, you will no longer be "ethnically" assyrian if you give up the RELIGION...and which religion, you may ask? Is it the religion of Ashur you must not abandon, NO! You must not abandon the religion of the Christians...which is merely a sect of Judaism...

The whole messiah thing is a Jewish invention for a people who couldn't manage to do much for themselves...the Hebrews NEEDED saving...the Assyrians never did...they had no need of a messiah...they lived proud and free and when it was time to go, they went, bravely, heads held high, certain in the knowledge that they had done more than their fair share in advancing human civilization and it was time to rest and leave their achievements for others to build upon, as they had built on the accomplishments of others.

...it turns out that the only thing that makes an assyrian is a Jewish religion...modified but still fundamentally Hebrew in origin.

Modern assyrians are the only ones in history REQUIRED to abandon the god whose religion gave them life and meaning, for the god of the Hebrews, the Keystone Kops of the ancient world whom they had to take in hand and school and who repaid their debt by stealing our stories and changing the names...THAT is the only thing that makes an assyrian today...he can forget his language; Akkadian...take on the language of a people, Arameans, who gave their language to many other nations and peoples...adopt the religion of Jews/Christians...but he canNOT abandon Jesus....THAT makes him ASHUR-ian.

No wonder these people run and hide and refuse to debate anyone but their cousins and then only if they agree with then and, respect them!

Respect what?
