...the simple answer is because they attack Islam, Muslims, Turks and Arabs, all of whom are surrounding the Christians of Iraq. Their attacks are entirely verbal, more exactly the hot-air kind packing no punch, making no difference except to annoy...very like a kid who hides inside his house and sticks his tongue out at the people outside he doesn't dare confront physically...or intellectually. Our Christians claim that they are justified in doing so because all these people have attacked THEM...and, they hasten to add, "for nothing except our religion". That is such an obvious lie, a self-seeking and opportunistic lie, that it has to be exposed...not through similar empty "attacks" or, god help us, "insults", but by historical facts which, since they can't match them, they revert to calling us Muslim-lovers, traitors and etc and banning and deleting...or, as Magpie now does, "previewing". But more than just a principle is involved...these long-distance verbal assaults and lies and ass-kissing have made it possible for the United States to claim "abuse" on their behalf, thereby lending some validity to the need to "liberate" Iraq and "save" their sorry asses...this has caused suspicion and resentment among Muslims who can only strike back at the Christians close at hand who, in almost every instance are NOT the ones making these ditzy claims. The Christians of the Sasanian Empire (our forbears) which included this same Iraq, realized quickly that there was real danger for them in being associated too closely with their co-religionist Roman citizens when that empire adopted Christianity. They knew they would be naturally suspect as to their loyalties by the tolerant Persians...and to announce their break with Orthodox Christianity loud and clear adopted the name and beliefs of Rome's most recent and greatest heretic, Nestorious...making their new name of Nestorians, odious and anathema to Rome, Persia's enemy for three centuries...which went some way towards mollifying their Persian overlords....I'm sure the Christians of Iraq, seeing their nation once again under attack by the descendants of those Roman Christians would like nothing better than to distance themselves as far as possible from their western co-religionists...except that would leave Magpie, Aprim and the rest with no noble-sounding cause to prop up their poor self-esteem as two-bit Christians and nothing more. So, I attack...I attack to protect what's left of the few Christians of Iraq, because they are ALL Iraqis, except that no one speaks up for them, except to use them for an Assyria-of-the-mind whose real goal is to prove Isaiah right. And, since it was not Muslim Iraqis who attacked their own country and the Christians in it but western Christian nations with the aid and connivance of our own treacherous Christians...it is THEM one has to attack...not Islam, Arabs, Kurds or Turks. --------------------- |
