...saw another documentary where the question was asked; "I thought we learned our lesson after Vietnam".

...just what lesson? And who is supposed to be doing the learning?

Not even the young people who go to war learned any lesson because wars are staggered just enough so the memories fade and the patriotic bullshit takes hold again.

Surely CEOs and warmongers don't learn the lesson we think they should be learning. What they learn is that war PAYS...and pays and pays....nothign else, no private-market anything pays like war does..like taking chunks of money THAT DAY from the Treasury does...or getting the government to borrow the money with the promise that you and I will pay it back.

WE get nothing from these wars...they don;t make us safe...they don;t make us loved, they make us hated and create more enemies, meaning more business.

The right people ARE learning the lessons of Vietnam....they learn over and over that nothing makes more money than war and that we, the dummies in the scene, can be fooled time and again to fight and pay for them....that lesson is definitely being learned!
