...this one has "Hardship" in its tityile and is, of course, printed by a vanity-press outfit as no responsible publisher would touch it....our own Maggie, otherwise known as "Mags" translated the book, into English, I think. Of course this book tells the truth about everything, largely because the author serves as "eyewitness"....he has the facts on Simele and other "tragedies"...none of which the assyrians bear any responsibility for...to hear them tell it the assyrians are full of love for everybody, fair-minded, democracy-loving and life-affirming...which is the reason Maggie´s site requires a password...because they love free speech.

Anyway this section of a review of the book by an idiot-cousin of mine caught my eye....

"Many actions and events described in this book are tragic and unfortunate, as
well as circumstantial, without having a good cause other than oppression by defeatist policies, false promises which have had widespread implications in our history, and that have fallen in the hands of those who benefited politically from such programs for the sake of their parties."

..just what that is supposed to mean I can´t tell...but he´s a lawyer and they´re used to confusing people. But, I think something bad hapened.

"Tragic events in the year 1933 brought mass-paralysis to the Assyrians, particularly to the Urmian and the Hikkiari Assyrian populations, caused by political discrepancies in the willingness of the Iraqi administration to present solutions about various declarations decreed by the British leaders."

...ah.....why should the Iraqi administration be bound by ANY "declarations decreed by the British leaders"??? What busines did the British have in promising any land to assyrians from OUTSIDE of Iraq?

...and no mention of the Levies, those treasonous collabortaors who wore British uniforms, got British money and weapons and turned them against Iraqis...the same people who had taken them in!!! The assyrians of Hakkari and Urmia made themselves odious to their neighbors by fighting for the British...naturally they were not welcome back in Hakkari nor in Urmia...so Iraq took them in...and then they went to work for the British occupiers...but that has nothing to do with anything...the Levies are HEROES to these people.

True to their Christianity, assyrians are responsible for NOTHING....in fact, when you try to point pout their end, their side in any conflict, they always respond with..."so, you are saying it was OUR fault?"...well, if the fault fits.

What they are saying is what their religion taught them; that they aren´t responsible for their acts, their "sins", if you prefer...and they definitely don´t have to pay for them, or shouldn´t...someone ELSE has to pay...first Jesus and now anyone BUT them.
