One thing I would like to comment on:

That's kinda assuming that the abandonment of Ashur took place immediately prior to, and because of, Christianity.
The historical fact is that Abgar didn't worship Ashur. He didn't switch from Ashur to Christianity....our temples and priesthood were destroyed centuries before Meshikha appeared on the scene.
Anyway, the more and more I've read of your reasonable arguments over the years has convinced me to begin studying and appreciating our ancient religion.
But I say let's give ourselves credit for these other three, too. Let's cherish all of Mesopotamian contribution to civilization.....the roots and the branches.
