Look....you are proud of your father and mother...admire them for having profoundly influenced the neighbors, your cousins, uncles and aunts...it still doesn't explain why you would abandon your parents to go live a few blocks down the street with another family....no matter how closely related...especially not if, as the Abgar myth implies...your own parents couldn't cure you, or offer you as many goodies...in another life no less.
If you are really and truly proud of the source and fountainhead of these other religions...it doesn't seem to me you would abandon the religion and culture that inspired imitation and innovation.
Satisfaction and pride for the offspring should give you greater appreciation for the source...not less...not lead you to abandon the fountainhead...but cherish it.
I don't understand why Assyrians find it so ludicrous that one of us would rather revert to and rediscover a meaning in the modern era for our own ways...while at the same time expending so much energy on behalf of a jew religion...I don't care how "influenced" it was by Ashur.
I admire the good in all of them too...but I respect more the source of all their goodness...if I had to choose one...and you guys DID choose...and you chose another one.
