xxx I suppose what I mean by my friend "finding someone better for her" is that both she & her ex want different things from a relationship... & no matter how much they like each other, a relationship between them can not work, unless one or both persons changed... & that is almost impossible. Besides, my really handsome & nice, Italian-American eye doctor would be perfect for her... & she's about to go to med school... she's got more important things to think about than her stupid ex.
xxx What I can't understand is how a smart, beautiful, young, & otherwise wonderful woman would throw herself at a trashy man? I see this over & over again... Why? & then I see my likewise smart, handsome, young, & otherwise wonderful guyfriends throwing themselves at women who don't want to see them for who they are, either. It's both ways these days... as our roles in society are increasingly being taught to us in terms of "consumer", so we here in the States treat each other like objects that can be bought or traded in. I wouldn't even treat an animal like that... & the only guys (& girls) I treat that way are the ones who treat me that way, even as friends. Gotta get rid of those people from my life somehow...
