Why are there no Assyrians with advanced degrees or with some serious accomplishments under their belts speaking out and doing anything about being Assyrian? Why are our truck drivers and cab drivers and those who would lead them our most ardent and outspoken nationalists?

It would seem to appear that advanced study disabuses people of the notion that they MUST BE direct decsendants of the ancient Assyrians. Why is that?

Could it be that the "National Question" that states all real Assyrians MUST be Christians becomes increasingly too silly to bear up under scrutiny...once you learn to read and write? And if that should be the case, then it must follow that many people scattered throughout the MidEast are as much Assyriuan descendants as anybody else is...irregardless of religion.

There's something smells rotten in Assyria...like to even be allowed to consider yourself an Assyrian you have to get a lobotomy first...cause any serious or thoughtful probing will get you axed.
