: When we were at the Detroit convention we stayed up all night one night in the lobby..it was a great time for all. I think what I'm going to do is check out of my room on Sunday, and keep my bag (of clothes and such) in a friend's room and just stay up all night sunday night... sound like a plan? I can save $89 that way...
: Maybe that's not such a good idea... hmm...
xxx Well, I could only stay Friday night - Sunday morning, & I really don't want to cause any problems for the hotel (though, they *could* have given us a good *student* discount on top of the convention rate). Besides, I'm not the night owl I used to be, either. I find it more romantic to wake up with the sun & go to sleep with the moon.... Used to be somewhat the other way around in high school & undergrad. & if I don't get enough sleep now-a-days & if I don't get up early, I become grumpy bear. MASSIVELY grumpy bear. HUGELY grumpy, angry, mean bear. RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
: Did you consider sharing a room with someone? That might help you cut costs. No, you can't share a room with me! No means no.
xxx Thanks for the suggestion & no offer. : ) Just kidding, of course. I have a hard time sleeping in a room with a stranger, ESPECIALLY a male (I would NEVER put myself in that position, silly), but frequently also with females (unless they are close friends or family). For some reason, I can not sleep if there is a stranger in my bedroom. I swear, I am one of those types who sleeps with a knife next to her bed, & I wake up at the slightest hint of light or sound.
: I'm sort of stuck since I have paid the convention fee $100 and it's nonrefundable. Now my job is to find out how to be as cheap as I can while i'm there... and if I can pay for 2 or 3 nights at the hotel instead of 4 or split the room with someone, that would be ideal.
: What am I going to do with two beds?
xxx You should room with Alex. He seems like a sweetheart. & Alex, you should go. If you go, you'll have a great time. I'd LOVE to meet ya'll, of course, so saying this is breaking my heart.
xxx Look, $550 is a lot of money to be throwing away when it could be going toward charity, home, or family & friends. I'll reconsider if the AANF lowers the price of registration or exempts us from having to pay it. I mean, how can they expect us to go there & pay EVEN MORE money for the CDs & artworks they'll be selling?
