To satisfy my own curiosity, I would like to get a really solid handle on how "ALL" or "MOST" Iraqis feel about everything that has transpired since, Gulf II, began. It would be very easy for me to assume a position for or against, but I have no right to impose my personal view on the Iraqi nation. You might be surprised how it would all shake out. Some would be for the intervention and against the occupation. Some would be against both. Some would be for both. It would depend to a great extent on which group you were talking to. Even so, whatever the concensus might be, it should still be viewed in isolation, to the morality of the Bush Administration's policies and decisions. In other words, the majority of Iraqis might support both the intervention and the occupation, that, in itself, does not justify the administration's policies and decisions. Making a judgment for or against this or any other administration, however, is purely a waste of time though, because a much larger problem is looming on the world's horizon. This problem is a global "Catch 22." Never before have all of the nations of the world been as vulnerable to mass death and destruction as they are today. Regardless of your moral position or your secular humanist position or your religious position, the fact remains that no matter how pacifist we are, the world's teeming billions have a breaking point. If we do not wrest control away from the military-industrial complex very soon, the inevitable spark will ignite the entire world in a conflagration that no one on this earth will be able to stop. Therein lies our dilemma.
