I couldn't go to DC ("vacation" time was used up), but my sister did, despite possible sniper attacks (she was staying 5-10 miles away from where the sniper had offed someone). She joined in the protest & then bumped into the counter protest. She said the protest was wonderful, & she tried to talk to someone in the counter protest about why US military strikes would be bad, but the guy didn't know English very well - just a few sentences like "Everyone hate Saddam."
