Sadie,
Sorry for the confusion, both interpretations are wrong; please let me attempt to clarify. I wasn't making any judgmental statement for or against the Iraqis or the occupation forces. Here's why: First, I think it is too easy to point a finger at somebody and cast the burden of blame on the most convenient scapegoat. Usually, most of the blame must be assumed by the decision makers and if I were inclined to fix blame, that is where I would look first and foremost. I hesitate, not out of cowardice, but because I believe my knowledge of the facts and my ability to see the "Big Picture," accurately, is extremely limited. The soldiers on the ground and the Iraqi civilians, are both victims of circumstance in most situations. The fact that they are there and just happen to be participants in these situations is not a matter of their choosing. How can we blame them? I mean, you could blame them, if you wanted to, but I don't think the pawns are really in control (that's why they are merely pawns). The bottom line is this: I'm just making a statement for all of us to contemplate. Maybe if we could slow down our pace in this world of insanity, maybe we could avoid some of these pitfalls in the future. It has been all to tempting for me to point my finger at others, for the ills of the world. Somewhere along that thorny path, I came to the realization that I'm part of it all too. I can't calculate the percentages for myself or others (I wouldn't waste my time trying). I'd just like to search for ways to help myself and everyone else avoid these traps in the future. I'm sorry for any confusion my post may have caused. My communication skills leave much to be desired.

: xxx OOPS! I don't think your prediction will be right. Sorry. I'm retarded. I misread your post. I thought you were talking about the occupying forces, not the actual citizens of Iraq, being cruel. Anyway, haven't you seen how bad the situation is, even in a few reports, in Iraq? How trigger-happy American troops are accidentally killing so many Iraqi civilians that it just makes the life of the average Iraqi so stressful, that it's not wonder, to me, that Iraqis are acting like that toward each other. When one is under occupation, the occupying forces are ALWAYS to blame for the problems of the occupied, esp. if the occupying forces enter that country promising things that haven't happened yet. The real problem is that there is no legal system/government set up to provide true protection for anyone. The U.S. troops just act like another mafia gang in control of Iraq. That causes the Iraqis to act like they do.
