xxx Terve, andreas (or one can say "Hei, andreas" as well).
: +++ Ei kestä, Sadie
: +++ Kuinka voit?
xxx I learned it as "Mitä kuuluu?"
: +++ First words only, but now I have to learn Finnish for professional reasons - in the shortest of times possible.
: +++ Any suggestions for proven ressources?
xxx Minun äitini (I *think* that's how to say "my mother"... or maybe it's just "äitini").
xxx "äiti" = "mother"
: +++ Kiitos (in advance = ?)
xxx Sorry, andreas. I only know how to count, basic body parts, generic & holiday greetings, & a couple of odd phrases (& curse words, of course, thanks to the Finnish grad student I hung out with 2 summers ago). Actually, you can probably find a few web sites that probably have more to offer in training than what I know. I learned more about the culture than the language when I was growing up. I am currently learning Arabic, & will then move onto Aramaic & fluent Finnish, when I have the money for computer language programs, other resources, &/or classes.
: +++ Moikka
xxx I learned it as "moi, moi".
